Pink Makeup Look/Walkthrough ūüĆļ

Hello Beauties! I was going to say that spring is around the corner so we should all get excited and crack out every piece of pastel clothing and makeup we can find, but with this miserable weather in the UK it couldn’t feel any further away.. nonetheless, let’s get in the mood with this cute pink makeup look that you can all rock when the spring season finally decides to come around! This bright liner and lipstick combo is all I’ll be wearing for the spring/summer, so let’s dive in and see how it’s achieved! I’ll list a full description of products used at the end of this blog post and where you can purchase them!

The first step of my makeup routine is skincare, if you don’t have a good skin base to work with then you’re not going to be able to fully achieve the look that you want to get out of your makeup. Because of this, I always start with a few pumps of Bare Minerals ‘Skinlongevity’ serum. This serum is perfect as it is made for all skin types and works to protect the skin against environmental stressors as it’s packed full of antioxidants. It’s powered by long life herb so is constantly working to help the skin look and feel young and healthy. I take a few pumps into the palm of my hand an gently press it into the face, immediately you can feel the hydration on your skin and you’re all prepped to start your routine.

First things first, primer! To go with my skincare I use the Bare Minerals ‘Good Hydrations’ primer, can you tell my skin’s a little dry at the moment? This primer is perfect because it preps my skin by smoothing out any pores thanks to the coconut alkanes therefore giving me a great base which allows my foundation to glide on flawlessly (you can find my review on both the new primers launched here!) If you’ve been following my blog for a while you’ll know my all time favourite foundation is the Illamasqua ‘Skin Base’, this formula is so easy to apply and so flawless looking (due to it being quite full coverage) so it’s my absolute go-to when it comes to my base (you can find my full review here!) After applying my foundation with my favourite Marc Jacobs ‘The Face II Sculpting’ brush, I like to go in with the Benefit Cosmetics ‘Boi-ing’ concealer under the eyes. I use my ring finger, as this is the most delicate and gentle, to place the concealer carefully under my eyes, in the centre of my forehead and chin and then over any imperfections that might be invading my face that day. Once these steps are done, I set my base with the loose powder from Rimmel, it’s a drug-store brand so people who like more high-end makeup tend to stay away from brands like this, but this is honestly the best loose setting powder I have come across. It is very finely milled and still gives the skin the flawless look that I am trying to achieve.

So now our base is done, we move onto eyes! I fill in (and basically reshape) my eyebrows first with the Benefit ‘Precisely My Brow’ pencil and then with the ‘Brow Zings’ wax and powder. Once my brows are on and looking pretty much the same (they’re sisters, not twins!) I prime my eyelids with the Mac Cosmetics ‘paint pot’ in soft ochre. I then set this with the loose powder from before. For this pink look, I decided the Sigma Beauty ‘Creme de Couture’ palette would be perfect as it’s a gorgeous selection of, very pigmented, bright matte colours. First I look the shade cherry blossom on a big fluffy blender brush and blended this through the crease, taking it slightly above the crease but not all the way to the brow bone. I then look the shade redberry rose and did the same, however not bringing it up as far as I did the first shade in order to give an effortlessly blended effect. I then took redberry rose down onto the outer corner of the lid and blended it towards the centre of the lid. After this, I took my paint pot and half cut my crease, making sure to blend it out at the centre into the redberry rose shade for an easier blend later on. I next grabbed my Too Faced ‘sweet peach’ eyeshadow palette and selected the shade bellini to go over where I had cut the crease, I used a packer eyeshadow brush to pop this onto where I cut the crease and blended it into the redberry rose colour already there. I then grabbed by Jeffree Star Cosmetics liquid lipstick in the shade ‘Masochist’ and used a liner brush to create a bright pink winged liner. If you’re going to do the same and use a pink lipstick then please make sure to double check it is eye safe before applying it near the eye area. And there we go, eye makeup complete!

After the eye makeup is complete I go back in and finish my base by enhancing what’s already there with a bit of colour. I went straight for my trusty Juvia’s Place blush palette and added some colour to the apples of my cheeks. I then took the Bare Minerals ‘warmth’ all over face colour to warm up my complexion, blending this into my forehead, cheekbones, jawline and then using whatever is left on the brush to buff into the rest of my foundation to slightly warm up the face all over. I then took my favourite highlighting palette by Huda Beauty the ‘pink sands edition’ and made those cheekbones blinding!

Lastly, onto my two favourite L’s.. lippy and lashes! I used the Eyelure lashes in No.126 to really make the eye makeup standout. No surprises here, the lipstick is a combo of Jeffree Star Cosmetics ‘Masochist’ and ‘714’, I used a brush to ombre the colours by applying the darker shade to the outside of the lips and the lighter in the middle, and then blending them together.

six cruelty free makeup brands and why I love them

For today’s post I wanted to share some of my top makeup brands that are cruelty free. I appreciate so much when a brand makes the decision to go cruelty free because as well as the obvious advantages it also opens the brand to a wider community. Let’s get into it!

Unsurprisingly, first and foremost we¬†have to talk about Jeffree Star Cosmetics. This brand is my¬†all time favourite¬†brand of makeup. I wear their ‘velour liquid lipsticks’ every single day without fail. They are the creamiest, most pigmented, stunning lipsticks I have ever come across. Not only is the formula AH-MA-ZING, the range of colours is absolutely unreal! Every shade you could ever want; nudes, reds, pinks and even yellow and greens! My top lippy choices are; ‘red rum’, ‘gemini’, ‘prom night’, ‘mannequin’ and new from the Christmas collection ‘santa baby’. Anyone who hasn’t ever tried this brand NEEDS to.. they’re also vegan so really there’s no reason not to..

Anastasia Beverley Hills is one of my all time¬†favourite¬†brands. They’re eyeshadows are some of the best, I’ve currently got two of their palettes (Modern Renaissance and Prism – I’m feeling a review coming soon..!) and I can’t get enough of them! The formulas are so buttery and¬†soo pigmented, exactly what I look for in eyeshadow. They have a wide range of other products as well including the extremely popular ‘dipbrow promenade’. ‘Dipbrow’ is so many people’s ‘go to’ when it comes to eyebrows and they come in such a big selection of colours with 11 shades in total, so there’s a shade to suit for everyone! I am so happy they are cruelty free as I couldn’t go without them in my kit!

The main reason this brand is in my list is because Illamasqua‘s skin base is my number one foundation, I wear it all day every day. It is a full to medium coverage which is my preference in a foundation, along with this it leaves my skin feeling light and soft which I don’t normally find with more full coverage foundations. It really gives my skin a gorgeous natural glow which lasts¬†allll day! The formula is so easy to blend into the skin and a little really goes a long way meaning the foundation lasts you a good while, hence saving money which is what I’m all about at the moment. Illamasqua have so many other great products but this is, in my opinion, by far the best and I’m so glad they’re cruelty free.

Too Faced might honestly be the cutest brand on earth when it comes to packaging and scents. I am¬†obsessed with anything peach, so when they brought out an¬†ENTIRE RANGE of peach based products I didn’t know what to do with myself. I recently reviewed the ‘sweet peach eyeshadow palette’ and I absolute love it. I also have the ‘chocolate bar eyeshadow palette’ and the formulas are¬†toooo good. Their eyeshadows blend out like butter.. and don’t even start me on the pigment, one dip in the pan and the brush is coated! Saying this, I still think the best thing about the brand is the unique scents linked with their products. The chocolate range honestly smells like a sweet chocolate dream and the peach range is the cutest, juiciest smelling peach scent you’ve ever smelt. Not only this, but their ‘better than sex’ mascara has been rated in many polls as the number one cruelty free mascara available in the UK, and to be fair.. it’s absolutely amazing. It adds length, volume and is a very pigmented black, love, love, love!

I’ve always had a huge love for Urban Decay. This brand has cracked the code on the perfect eyeshadow formula; they are insanely pigmented, easy to blend, buttery in the pan and the colour schemes in each palette they have introduced are genius. Their ‘Naked’ palette range is a well-known favourite in and outside of the beauty community, the range is so versatile meaning there is something for anyone and everyone. My number one product I cannot be without from Urban is the ‘heavy metal glitter liner’ in ‘midnight cowboy’. It is packaged like a liquid liner so has a very fine tip which is perfect for applying the liner in the crease and along the lash like, the glitter shows up so vividly and just adds that extra¬†oomphh to any eye look you create. Most of the Urban products are also vegan which I really appreciate, not necessarily because I practice veganism myself, but because it means the brand is accessible to a wider community.

heavy metals midnight cowboy

The last brand I want to touch on is the infamous Jouer Cosmetics, this brand has really built itself up from being less well-known to an absolute empire. I am¬†so glad that they are cruelty free as their ‘long wear lip toppers’ are really something else. They add the most gorgeous finish over any lip colour; be it liquid lip, normal lipstick, a lip tint or just your natural lip colour, the toppers add that little extra summin summin.. one of my favourite combos is to take Jeffree Star Cosmetic’s ‘red rum’ liquid lipstick and put the ‘skinny dip’ lip topper over for a little extra glam. Another stunning product from Jouer are their ‘powder highlighters’, they are so pigmented and bring that blinding glow to the face that I strive for, my favourite shade is ‘rose quartz’ which is a gorgeous soft champagne pink. For anyone that hasn’t tried this brand I’d definitely recommend getting your hands on one of their products and giving it a go!

So there we have it, a few of my favourite cruelty free brands. If you liked this post and the content was helpful to you let me know and maybe we’ll make this a series?! Hit me up with some of your favourite cruelty free brands as I’m always on the lookout for new brands to discover!

As always thank you for reading, and I’ll see you on the next one!

my favourite ‘Lush’ products! (pt.3)

Yes that’s right it’s part three¬†of my favourite Lush products, I just can’t get enough! And with Christmas round the corner you can be sure they’ll be a festive Lush haul coming soon! But for now, let’s dive into part three!

“Rocket Science” (bath bomb)

rocket science
£2.95

“5..4..3..2..1..”¬†– blast off! This adorable little bath bomb will make you want to take off into outer space, and what’s more it’s only ¬£2.95!! This little rocket is a ‘slow fizzer’ which means it takes slightly longer than normal to dissolve, however, that just means you can stare at it’s beauty for as long as you like. As it begins to dissolve the yellow foam (acting as the ‘fire’) pushes the rocket along the water, releasing the most fragrant citrus scent thanks to the Sicilian lemon oil and bergamot oil. These scents are designed to uplift and cleanse the skin and that’s exactly what they do. Another thing I love about this product is that it’s perfect as some light entertainment for the children, because Lush are vegan there is no doubt their products are safe for the kiddies skin, making bath time even more fun (or just as a good bribe to get them in the tub!) This rocket actually reminds me of a smaller, cheaper intergalactic! It leaves your skin soft and silky with little to no residue left behind, whilst its scent calms and relaxes, a definite must try, especially for the price!

Avobath (bath bomb)

avobath
£3.50

“bath time superfood” – well, that’s what you get when there’s fresh avocado in your bath! That’s right, this bath bomb contains¬†actual¬†avocado.. along with some olive oil and lemongrass of course.. so really you’re bathing in your own super smoothie! As it begins to dissolve the avobath releases a beautiful softness allowing your skin to soak up the nourishment and moisturising goodness, hydrating your skin while the refreshing scents focus your mind. When completely dissolved the avobath turns the water a beautiful ‘granny smith apple’ green, and the scent stays on your skin for a long while after you leave the tub! A definite must if you’re in need of some proper relaxation and rejuvenation, so go on¬†‘avobath’!!

Intergalactic (bath bomb)

interglactic
£4.50

“blast off into funky”¬†– about right! This is by far the funkiest bath bomb I’ve got my hands on, the colours that erupt when it hits the water are absolutely magical! As it dissolves your tub becomes your own little galaxy with the brightest blues, pinks, yellows, purples.. and of course my favourite part, a¬†LOT¬†of glitter. As if the stunning visual wasn’t enough, the scent is absolutely divine.. a burst of fresh peppermint, grapefruit and cederwood oil take you ‘far far away’ and revitalise your senses, leaving you feeling refreshed and uplifted. And if that doesn’t convince you, they’ve thrown in an extra little treat in the form of some popping candy to really make you feel like you’re travelling through deep space! If I were you, I’d get my hand on this spacey wonderfulness!

That’s all for this part folks! But have no fear, like I said earlier I’ve got my eye on those Christmassy goodies so stay tuned for a post focused entirely on them! In the mean time, why not go out and give these a try?

Juvia’s Place ‘Saharan II’ Eyeshadow Palette

Okay, so it’s safe to say I am officially¬†obsessed with this brand. From the moment I got my hands on my very first Juvia’s product ‘The Magic Palette’ I’ve been absolutely hooked (you can find my review on that palette here). Recently I’ve got my hands another new palette; The Saharan II Eyeshadow palette.

juvias saharan II

I fell in love with the colours in this palette as soon as I lifted the lid, they are so vibrant and there’s something quite endearing about the different selection of shades. The first thing that caught my eye was the fact there are¬†multiple duo-chrome shades in this palette, and duo-chromes might be the love of my life.. right, lets get to the facts shall we??

juvias-saharan-ii-2.jpg

The palette contains a total of nine eyeshadows. Along with three duo-chrome shades there are three matte shades and also three metallic shades, each as equally gorgeous as the last. Each eyeshadow is 3.6 grams of product and with the palette retailing for £20 in the UK (you can grab it from beautybay.com) I think you get a substantial amount of product for your money.

The colour selection in this palette is absolutely stunning, there are so many different looks to be created from the nine shades. Each of the shades are incredibly pigmented, the metallic and duo-chrome shades are the most pigmented with the matte shadows following closely behind. This fact allows the shadows to be blended easily and quickly with a high impact colour payoff, which is an absolute dream when it comes to eyeshadow.

juvias saharan II 5
left to right: Chefchaouen, Marrakesh and Aziza

The three duo-chrome shades are as follows.. Marrakesh is a gorgeous peach colour that has a tint of gold/orange when in specific lights, Aziza is a beautiful white toned champagne colour with a tint of gold and Chefchaouen is a stunning light grey/blue colour with a tint of silver.

juvias saharan II 3
left to right: Taza, Zohra and Fez

The three matte shades are as follows.. Fez is a gorgeous warm deep brown colour, Zohra is a stunning warm deep red colour and Taza is a warm brown which is much lighter than Fez.

juvias saharan II 4
left to right: Nomad, Berber and Hadiya

The three metallic shades are as follows.. Hadiya is a lovely light to medium brown shade, Berber is a pure sea blue colour and Nomad is a gorgeous burgandy/wine colour.

My two favourite shades in the palette are Marrakesh (the orange toned peach) and Zohra (the deep red). I honestly can’t get enough of using this palette and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone looking for some top quality eyeshadows.

All in all I adore the ‘Saharan II’ eyeshadow palette and can’t wait to start creating some different looks with the shadows! Juvia’s Place holds a special place in my heart and they keep¬†killing it with these palettes, bring on the next one!!

Until next time!

my favourite ‘Yankee Candle’ scents!

I love a good candle.. especially in the cold winter months, and in my opinion you cant get better than a good old Yankee Candle! The scents they come up with just fill me with joy (maybe because I’ve been surrounded by them my whole life..) so I thought I’d share a few of my favourites with you for this time of year! Let’s dive in..

the perfect tree (2)

Now, seeing as Christmas has just passed, I thought I’d start with a couple of my favourite Christmas scents from this year! The first is called ‘the perfect tree’ and it’s exactly what you’d expect. It smells exactly like a freshly bought Christmas tree! With its top notes being evergreen and pine needles, this candle is sure to fill your house with a joyous Christmassy scent. Saying this, I find that this scent isn’t too overwhelming, as I find some candles tend to have a very overpowering scent which really puts me off. For a cold Christmas morning ‘the perfect tree’ is exactly that, perfect.

christmas eve

The second of my favourite Christmas scents is ‘Christmas Eve’. One of my all time favourite ingredients in a candle recipe is ‘red berry’ which may be why I love this one so much.. its top notes are orange, almond and citrus with a hint of red berry and cinnamon undertones. This scent is all you could want from a Christmas candle, as soon as it begins to burn it fills the room with the most wonderful nostalgic smell of the holidays! For me it brings back all the memories of being younger on Christmas Eve, filled with excitement for the next day! A must try for this time of year, and a must have for Christmas Eve!

snow in love

Another scent I love for this time of year (and my mum’s favourite)¬†is ‘snow in love’. This scent is beautiful, its top notes are citrus, jasmine and a hint of sandalwood. It is a very cosy and comforting scent with a floral fragrance which is not too overpowering. The scent is very delicate, bringing just the right amount of elegance to the room. It strikes me as quite a romantic scent and the presentation is adorable too, the white candle fits in with any decor and I think makes a wonderful gift. It is a perfect candle for this time of year, but is also a favourite all year round and it goes down especially well in the spring time. ‘Snow in love’ is an absolute all rounder.

peony

Peony has always been one of the scents I love the most, so I burn it all year round. It’s subtle enough to not be overpowering but strong enough that you can still smell it when you leave the room. The candle is my favourite colour, a light pink, which looks absolutely stunning. The scent entices you in with a bright sweetness and is perfect for any room. The top note is sweet peony with a mid scent of pink peony and a base of blonde woods, so you get a really raw peony scent. I’d suggest this candle for anyone with a sweet floral taste!

So there we go, a few of my favourite scents for this time of year! I hope you enjoyed reading and its inspired you to try some new scents, until next time!

a proper peachy makeup post!

I am completely in love with anything to do with peaches, the scent, the colour, you name it. So clearly, anything makeup related I can get my hands on that has a peachy vibe is an absolute dream! I thought I’d put a few of my favourites together in one peachy post!

Gerard Cosmetics ‘Slay All Day’ Setting Spray

I am¬†obsessed with this setting spray, it’s changed my makeup game completely. This is one for all my oily skinned lovelies! Considering I’ve got quite oily skin I need a setting spray that’s going to combat it and this one is perfect! It is formulated as an oil control mist which is designed to keep your look in place all day despite any oily skin attempting to make your makeup cakey or settling into the fine lines of the skin. When first applied to the skin there is a burst of refreshing fragrance and an immediate cooling feeling on the skin, it really feels as if the makeup is being locked in place. There are 11 scents available which really impressed me as this is a huge range! They differ from peach (my¬†absolute favourite), green tea, watermelon, grapefruit and many other delightful scents. I swear by this setting spray to keep your makeup looking perfect all day, it really works wonders for me as it also leaves the skin with a gorgeous glow which I can’t get enough of! Not only this, but it is one of the more affordable setting sprays I’ve found that actually works, it retails for ¬£16.50 for a 100ml bottle from¬†beautybay.com.¬†When you compare this price to my other favourite setting sprays such as Urban Decay’s All Nighter which retails for ¬£23.50 or Skindinavia’s Post-Makeup Recovery Spray which retails for ¬£22 it’s clear Gerard Cosmetics is the best price. This setting spray definitely does what it says on the tin, lets you slay all day!

Too Faced ‘Sweet Peach’ Palette

sweet peach 3

I am¬†completely and utterly¬†in love with this palette. From the first moment you lift the lid on this beauty the most gorgeous peach aroma fills the air and you can’t help but breathe it all in. It is the perfect peach scent, I really can’t tell you enough how gorgeous it is. In this palette you get 18 beautiful shades that are very varied so the list of possibilities for eyeshadow looks are endless. The first half of the palette contains the lighter, brighter pinky shades which then go into the darker more brown toned shaded towards the right side of the palette. These eyeshadows are absolutely to die for, one of the best formulas I’ve come across from any brand. The pigment from the shadows is unreal, one swipe and the colour is incredibly opaque, this even goes for the lighter shades such as ‘white peach’, ‘georgia‘ and ‘peaches ‘n cream’.¬†The shadows are so buttery when swiped from the pan, they just glide over the skin and are incredibly easy to blend, something which is a must have for any eyeshadow formula in my kit. God bless ‘Too Faced’ for releasing an entire peach collection!

Sleek Cosmetics ‘Life’s a Peach’ Blush

I am such a fan of blush! A lot of people tend to steer clear of blush but I really couldn’t complete my makeup routine without it, it just puts that lovely warm bit of colour back into the cheeks. This blush is one of my absolute favourites as, not only is it peachy, but it’s the perfect colour between pink and orange. The formula of this blush is amazing, it’s a powder blush and sometimes you have to be wary of fallout, however this blush has very little fallout to contend with. It’s formula is quite buttery so it’s very easy to blend on the cheeks which is important when it comes to blush as less is more. The more blended a blush is the more of a soft, natural effect you get which is why this blush is perfect for me. A definite must have for the winter season!

So there you have it, a few of my favourite peachy products! I hope you enjoyed reading and if you did be sure to give my blog a follow to keep up to date with my posts! Until next time!

autumn inspired makeup look!

I can’t believe it’s November already, where has this year gone? It only feels like yesterday people were complaining about it being too hot, we were in mid June and everyone was wearing their coolest clothes drinking pimms! Now the leaves are falling, it’s getting bitterly cold and we’re all wrapping up in big coats and having hot chocolate! Saying that¬†I do love this time of year, yes for the cosy atmosphere but¬†mainly for the fashion.. autumn is a great excuse to throw on a blanket cape and a full face of autumny makeup! In spirit of this, I’ve decided to share one of my full makeup looks for this autumn; dark lips, orangey eyeshadows and blinding highlighter is all I’ll be wearing for the next month! (no change there then.. I’ll also put a list of all products used at the end of this post including the shades/prices!)

sophie

Now first things first it’s the eyebrows! Everyone has different routines to their makeup, mine happens to be eyes first and base after, but if you do it the other way round there’s nothing wrong with that! To shape mine in I use the Benefit Cosmetics ‘precisely my brow’ pencil and the ‘brow zings’ to fill them in with wax and the powder to set them. I then go in with my Urban Decay ‘naked skin concealer’ and outline my brows to define them even further (I’m a firm lover of strong shaped brows, but if you prefer a softer look then you do you!)

After the brows are looking well defined, I prime my eyelids by covering them brow to lash line with my ‘MAC sot ochre paint pot’ to get them ready for the eyeshadow, this also enables the eyeshadow to stay on and look fresher for longer.

Onto the eyeshadow! For this look I used the gorgeous ‘modern renaissance’ palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills and the ever stunning ‘naked heat palette from Urban Decay. I started with the ‘modern renaissance’ palette and the shade ‘warm taupe’ which I blended into and above my crease, making sure to blend the edges out well as this is the transition colour for the other shades. I then took the shade ‘realgar’ and blended this into my crease, taking it out towards the brow bone but not as far as I had taken the transition shade. After this, I took ‘red ochre’ and blended this right into the crease, only taking it¬†slightly above, as not to go as far as the previous shade. I then moved onto the ‘naked heat’ palette, I took shade ‘cayenne’ and blended this from the outer corner of my lid into the center, I then added a tiny bit of a mixture of the shades ‘en fuego’ and ‘ashes’ and blended this into the very outer corner to add some depth. I then dipped into ‘dirty talk’ and added this to the center of my lid and as for the inner part of the lid I used the shade ‘lumbre’ and blended this back into the center shade. To finish off the eyes I added the shades ‘red ochre’, ‘dirty talk’ and ‘lumbre’ to the lower lash line to complete the look!

Now for the base! I started by priming my face with my favourite e.l.f primer, then went straight in with the¬†best foundation in the world (in my eyes anyway) the Illamasqua ‘skin base’ and blended until it was flawless. After this I used the Urban Decay ‘naked skin’ concealer under my eyes (a little on my chin and forehead too) and the liquid blush to add some colour back into the apples of my cheeks. I then powered my entire face with the Rimmel translucent powder (I swear by that stuff). Time for contour! I always contour my cheeks, forehead, nose and jawline with the Kat Von D ‘shade and light’ palette, using the grey-toned shade ‘sombre’. After contour I took my Benefit Cosmetics ‘hoola’ bronzer and bronzed up the places that I had contoured to add some more colour back into my face. Next up my favourite part of any makeup look.. highlighter. My favourite highlighter palette at the moment is the Huda Beauty ‘3D highlighter palette – pink sands’ as you may have been able to tell from my October Favourites post! I added a mix of the colours ‘azores’ and ‘ibiza’ onto the high points of my face; cheekbones, nose and a little on the chin.

To finish off the look it was time for the two L’s.. lippy and lashes! For my lipstick I decided to go with ‘designer blood’ by Jeffree Star Cosmetics as it just complemented the eyeshadow too well! As for the eyelashes I used the wispy edition of my favourite brand Eyelure, I can’t get enough of that collection!

So there we have it, my super autumny full makeup look! I loved creating this look and I hope you liked it too! Look out for some more autumn/winter makeup looks coming your way!

It’s that time again to revisit my love of Lush! Like I’ve said before, they’re cruelty free AND vegan, and their innovative products always bring a smile to my face! So let’s dive straight in..

The Experimenter (bath bomb)

experimenter 3
£4.50

“original motion picture”¬†– this bath bomb is exactly that, its own enthralling saga. As soon as it hits the water this bath bomb erupts with the most vibrant colours I’ve ever seen, the brightest pinks, blues, yellows, oranges and of course the addition of some glitter! This bath bomb is a real adventure from start to finish, not only are the colours stunning, the scent is unreal! Vanilla and tonka provide a sweet scent sensation while notes of vetivert run your senses wild! Perhaps my favourite thing about this bath bomb is the added extra of popping candy which appear as it starts to dissolve! (told you it was an adventure)! Another thing I love is that the colour of the bath (when all the other colours have merged into one) is completely different every time, sometimes it’s a gorgeous deep blue colour, sometimes a sea-green and anywhere in between! All I know for sure is that you definitely have to try this if you haven’t and star in your own motion picture!

D’Fluff (shaving soap)

dfluff 2
£6.50

“defluffed and delightful” – this shaving soap is my favourite in the Lush range. I’m not sure if that might be because it’s pink.. but I’m going to pretend it’s not. The main scents of D’Fluff are fresh strawberries and maple syrup with a hint of rose, now can you get more delicious than that? (the amount of times I’ve wondered what it tastes like..)! Take a nice scoop of the product and sweep it over any area you want ‘defluffed’, then go to town with a razor and hey presto, you’ve got some seriously silky-smooth skin. The best thing about this product is it can be used anywhere, and when I say that, I mean¬†anywhere.. chins, legs, arms, wherever you want to be hair-free! The gorgeous marshmallowy texture is met with the softening powers of cocoa butter leaving the skin hydrated, soft and nourished. This is definitely a must have in my bathroom!

Yellow Submarine (bath bomb)

yellow submarine
£3.95

“we all bathe in a yellow submarine” – cutest thing ever right? This adorable little submarine is every bath lovers dream. Place it gently on the top of the water and watch it sail into the sunset (or just from one end of the tub to the other..) either way it’s a magical little product guaranteed to make you smile. The gorgeous blend of Brazilian orange, lemongrass and coriander seeds create a fresh and fruity scent that is strong but not overpowering. As it cruises around the tub it’s gorgeous foamy frothy trail goes from a bright yellow, to a pink, to a gorgeous orange (mirroring the scent), making you feel as if you’re witnessing a beautiful sunset whilst sinking back and relaxing. An absolute must have, I would encourage anyone to try this bath bomb out as it’s definitely become my new favourite!

So there we have it, a few more of my favourite products from one of my favourite brands! They continue to bring out so many amazing products, and no doubt they’ll definitely be another blog post dedicated to them, so stay tuned!

red lipsticks for autumn/winter!

I’ve always found that an autumn/winter look isn’t complete without a gorgeous red lip, so I’ve put together a few of my favourites for you guys to try this year!

Ted Baker ‘Treasured Treats’ – Bright Red + Darker Red

We’re starting with one of my absolute favourite brands, Ted Baker. Now you may be a bit skeptical about these lippys as this brand isn’t famed for their makeup range, but I can honestly tell you they’re brilliant. I’m so here for the aesthetic of these lipsticks, they look absolutely stunning. The formula of this lipstick is incredibly creamy and because of this the texture feels amazing on the lips. These lipsticks are so hydrating and the colour pay-off is brilliant. The only thing that baffles me slightly is the fact they don’t have individual names (hence why I’ve made them up), when buying a lipstick I expect to be able to look at the bottom and find out what that specific colour is called, but I guess this brand may be a bit too up market for that! All in all they are beautiful lipsticks, not just because of the colour, but also because the formula feels incredible!

Jeffree Star Cosmetics ‘Velour Liquid Lipstick’ – Rich Blood

rich blood

I’ve mentioned this brand on my blog before because I absolutely adore it! It is by¬†far¬†my favourite lipstick brand. The velour liquid lipsticks are a staple in my kit, I must own about 15 of them (and I’m telling you now, that still isn’t enough)! This lipstick dries down to a lovely shiny finish but still feels hydrating and keeps its bit of sparkle even when it dries! One of the main reasons I LOVE this formula is that it stays on no matter what, it honestly lasts for hours and hours. You can eat, drink, go about daily life and this lipstick¬†will not budge.¬†What’s more is this brand is cruelty free AND vegan which I really appreciate, so anyone and everyone can get their hands on one!

Huda Beauty ‘Liquid Matte’ – Cheerleader

It wasn’t until I went to Milan in August this year that I tried these lipsticks for the first time in Sephora, but I’m so glad I did! I was drawn to them because of their frosty packaging, it just looks so classy and sophisticated I couldn’t help myself! This lippy is soo pigmented, one layer and you’re good to go! The colour is also true to the way it looks in the packaging, a lot of the time you can put on a lipstick and it looks completely different than it did in it’s packaging, however I’ve not found that with these lipsticks and I tested a good few (and might have bought a good few as well..)! The formula dries down completely matte and stays put, however it still feels hydrating and does not dry out your lips, a must have in my eyes!

Jeffree Star Cosmetics ‘Lip Ammunition’ – Unicorn Blood

unicorn blood 2

I know, I know, another Jeffree Star lipstick? This one’s a different formula! These are their ‘lip ammunition’ range which are advertised as stick lipsticks which have ‘one swipe coverage’ and they’re not wrong! This lipstick is incredibly pigmented which means you don’t need to use a lot of product, making it last longer! It has a satin like finish which is absolute gorgeous, however this one does have a tendency to come off if you ear/drink etc. Probably the best thing about this lipstick is that it smells like ice-cream, it really does! It’s an absolutely beautiful colour and more on the darker side for those smokey autumn/winter looks. I love this formula and I’m sure you will to!

So there we have it, I hope this post was helpful for those looking for a new red lippy to try out this autumn/winter! These lipsticks the perfect thing to top off a gorgeous makeup look, and I urge everyone to try at least one of them! What are your favourite red lipstick? Let me know in the comments so I can give them a go!

my favourite ‘Lush’ products! (pt.1)

Anyone that knows me will tell you that I am OBSESSED with Lush, and I think their products are exactly that: Lush! Not only are they cruelty-free AND vegan, their products are super cute and anyone that gets their hands on one is guaranteed to have a smile on their face! From the gorgeous scents to the stunning designs and witty names of their products, there’s something for everyone!

So here’s a list of some of my absolute favourites! (I’ve made this part one because undoubtedly there will be more Lush themed posts..)!

Think Pink (bath bomb)

think pink
£4.50

“banish the black, burn the blue and bury the beige!” – that’s the tagline for this bath bomb, and rightly so! Now I may be a bit biased as pink¬†is my favourite colour, however, this is one of my all time favourite bath bombs! As soon as it hits the water it starts to release the most gorgeous magenta and fuchsia colours, along with a slight sparkle thanks to the glitter! The colour disperses quickly whilst keeping it’s intensity, I put my hand under the water and it completely disappears into the pink, glittery abyss! The scent of this bath bomb isn’t any less impressive that it’s appearance, it has a very comforting and sweet scent, thanks to the vanilla and top note of caramel to add that little extra oomf! Not only that, the ingredients contain cornflour and lavender oil which work together to bring a softening embrace to the skin, leaving you feeling relaxed and your skin feeling soft!

Guardian of the Forest (bath bomb)

guardian-of-the-forest.jpeg
£4.50

“the spirit of nature”¬†– it sure is! This bath bomb embodies everything you imagine when you think of magical forests. As if it’s stunning design isn’t enough to pull you in, the strong scent of oakmoss is just too comforting for words. Not only that, the cypress is added to soothe muscles and also acts as an antiseptic, cleansing the skin as you bathe. The scents of this bath bomb are combined to relax, revitalise and uplift and that’s exactly what they do.. while the addition of fragrant rosewood oil gives it that little extra kick and really adds to that wonderful earthy scent! The colour that you get when it hits the water is absolutely stunning, the bath turns into a lagoon of powerful deep greens, a hint of blue and a little shimmer to bring that extra magic sparkle to the tub. This bath bomb is one of the most unique in the entire Lush collection, mostly down to its earthy scent, which is why it’s one of my all time favourites!

Shimmy Shimmy (shimmer bar – go figure!)

shimmy bar
£5.95

“for skin that shines”¬†– they’re not joking. This product has to be my ABSOLUTE favourite product Lush have ever created. This bar has been made to be nourishing, hydrating, softening and conditioning and I can safely say job well done! The main ingredients are both cocoa and shea butter (fair trade of course, this is Lush after all..) which are both gentle, richly moisturising and easily absorbed into the skin, perfect for a bar like this! The scent of this bar is predominantly vanilla and clary sage oil which give the scent a sweet, calming and sensual feel. Now, undoubtedly, my favourite thing about this product is the gorgeous glittery shimmer that it leaves on the skin after being applied. It is meant to be applied on an area of the skin that you want to highlight, however if you’re like me that’s absolutely everywhere!! The shimmery glitter shows up brilliantly and leaves your skin dewy and glowing, I really find it gives you that extra little boost of confidence!

So there we have it, a few of my all time favourite Lush products! I really can’t get enough of this brand and I will continue to be amazed by the stunning products they keep creating, so no doubt they’ll be many more posts like this one to come so stay on the look out for those!

Let me know if you’ve tried any of these products or what your fav’s are in the comments!
