autumn inspired makeup look!

I can’t believe it’s November already, where has this year gone? It only feels like yesterday people were complaining about it being too hot, we were in mid June and everyone was wearing their coolest clothes drinking pimms! Now the leaves are falling, it’s getting bitterly cold and we’re all wrapping up in big coats and having hot chocolate! Saying that I do love this time of year, yes for the cosy atmosphere but mainly for the fashion.. autumn is a great excuse to throw on a blanket cape and a full face of autumny makeup! In spirit of this, I’ve decided to share one of my full makeup looks for this autumn; dark lips, orangey eyeshadows and blinding highlighter is all I’ll be wearing for the next month! (no change there then.. I’ll also put a list of all products used at the end of this post including the shades/prices!)

Now first things first it’s the eyebrows! Everyone has different routines to their makeup, mine happens to be eyes first and base after, but if you do it the other way round there’s nothing wrong with that! To shape mine in I use the Benefit Cosmetics ‘precisely my brow’ pencil and the ‘brow zings’ to fill them in with wax and the powder to set them. I then go in with my Urban Decay ‘naked skin concealer’ and outline my brows to define them even further (I’m a firm lover of strong shaped brows, but if you prefer a softer look then you do you!)

After the brows are looking well defined, I prime my eyelids by covering them brow to lash line with my ‘MAC sot ochre paint pot’ to get them ready for the eyeshadow, this also enables the eyeshadow to stay on and look fresher for longer.

Onto the eyeshadow! For this look I used the gorgeous ‘modern renaissance’ palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills and the ever stunning ‘naked heat palette from Urban Decay. I started with the ‘modern renaissance’ palette and the shade ‘warm taupe’ which I blended into and above my crease, making sure to blend the edges out well as this is the transition colour for the other shades. I then took the shade ‘realgar’ and blended this into my crease, taking it out towards the brow bone but not as far as I had taken the transition shade. After this, I took ‘red ochre’ and blended this right into the crease, only taking it slightly above, as not to go as far as the previous shade. I then moved onto the ‘naked heat’ palette, I took shade ‘cayenne’ and blended this from the outer corner of my lid into the center, I then added a tiny bit of a mixture of the shades ‘en fuego’ and ‘ashes’ and blended this into the very outer corner to add some depth. I then dipped into ‘dirty talk’ and added this to the center of my lid and as for the inner part of the lid I used the shade ‘lumbre’ and blended this back into the center shade. To finish off the eyes I added the shades ‘red ochre’, ‘dirty talk’ and ‘lumbre’ to the lower lash line to complete the look!

Now for the base! I started by priming my face with my favourite e.l.f primer, then went straight in with the best foundation in the world (in my eyes anyway) the Illamasqua ‘skin base’ and blended until it was flawless. After this I used the Urban Decay ‘naked skin’ concealer under my eyes (a little on my chin and forehead too) and the liquid blush to add some colour back into the apples of my cheeks. I then powered my entire face with the Rimmel translucent powder (I swear by that stuff). Time for contour! I always contour my cheeks, forehead, nose and jawline with the Kat Von D ‘shade and light’ palette, using the grey-toned shade ‘sombre’. After contour I took my Benefit Cosmetics ‘hoola’ bronzer and bronzed up the places that I had contoured to add some more colour back into my face. Next up my favourite part of any makeup look.. highlighter. My favourite highlighter palette at the moment is the Huda Beauty ‘3D highlighter palette – pink sands’ as you may have been able to tell from my October Favourites post! I added a mix of the colours ‘azores’ and ‘ibiza’ onto the high points of my face; cheekbones, nose and a little on the chin.

To finish off the look it was time for the two L’s.. lippy and lashes! For my lipstick I decided to go with ‘designer blood’ by Jeffree Star Cosmetics as it just complemented the eyeshadow too well! As for the eyelashes I used the wispy edition of my favourite brand Eyelure, I can’t get enough of that collection!

So there we have it, my super autumny full makeup look! I loved creating this look and I hope you liked it too! Look out for some more autumn/winter makeup looks coming your way!
